Mayor Lonny Ward and Councilmen Marty Larson and Stan Judd were sworn in by Town Clerk Lucinda Daley in the Genola Town Council meeting held on January 15, 2014.  An Open House was held an hour prior to the meeting to offer appreciation to the outgoing Mayor Danny Throckmorton and Councilman Mark Davis for their years of service as well as welcome in Genola's newly elected Mayor and Councilmen.  Mayor Throckmorton opened up the meeting by sharing comments about how much he had enjoyed serving the town and of his appreciation for the people he had worked with. He also related how pleased he was that in all four years of his term as mayor Genola had stayed within its budget and had made good use of public funds.  Newly sworn in Mayor Ward thanked Mayor Throckmorton for his years of devoted service despite having faced difficult health obstacles midway through his term. Mayor Ward also stated he was excited with the caliber of individuals he would be working with on the new Town Council and stated he felt they would be able to accomplish great things during the next four years. Former mayor Neil Brown was appointed by the Town Council to fill the Council seat vacated by Lonny Ward. During the meeting the following assignments were given:  Councilman Marty Larson - Town Treasurer & Secondary Water; Councilman Stan Judd - Parks & Town Celebration; Councilman Hale Robison - Culinary Water & Roads; Neil Brown - Fire Department. Regular Genola Town Council meetings will be held monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Genola Public Safety Building located at 455 North Main Street. The public is invited to attend.
