23 cities throughout Utah are modernizing their elections, conserving taxpayer dollars, and following the Legislature’s recommendation by participating in Utah’s Municipal Ranked Choice Voting Pilot Program.
Cities using ranked choice voting are not voting today, but instead will have one election in November, which will allow residents to rank their candidates from most to least favorite.
Ranked choice voting eliminates costly primaries for cities and candidates. Historically, municipal primaries have the lowest participation of any cycle. Ranked choice voting is better, faster, and cheaper. It works!
